With a little delay and great pleasure, we announce the dates for OpenFest 2026 – November 7 and 8, 2026. The event will be held at the Interpred Convention Center, 36 Dragan Tsankov Street.
This year’s motto is “TBD”, which can be translated as “to be discussed” or “to be decided”. You’ve probably come across it as a placeholder when people don’t know what to put.
We live in interesting times. There are different ideas about what will happen and what to do. It’s not clear whether things will change, whether they will stay the same, or whether something so general will happen that all our current worries will disappear.
Many people and events have an assumption (and a desire) for what the future should be, and they push and promote it in all sorts of ways – be it AI overlords taking over, drowning us in rising seas, or a utopia where we can all just sit back and do nothing. Because we refuse to lie to people that we know what’s going to happen, we prefer to admit it, and invite everyone with ideas on the topic – what can, what should, what will – to come and tell us. Not only as speakers, but even as visitors, a big part of the power of OpenFest is the opportunity to meet and talk with interesting people who are busy doing things and contributing to the change they want to see in the world.
