For the 2023 edition of the conference, we have prepared two challenges for you:

Help us improve the 5kmrun mobile app for Android and iPhone – and you could win one of three great prizes –

You may choose to work on any of the tasks listed at this link in the app’s github repository – https://github.com/etabakov/fivekmrun-app/issues – or be creative and work on new addditions such as functionality, documentation, infrastructure /e.g. CI/, automated tests, etc. , which you consider to be a valuable contribution to the project. If you need help to get started or have additional questions, you can join the 5kmrun Discord channel – https://discord.gg/TtygvedW and ask there. The submissions deadline is until Sunday, November 5th 13:30. We expect you to send us your work in the form of a Pull Request in the github repository, and the winners will be chosen by a jury of 3 people – one person from the program committee and the OpenFest team, and one person from the 5kmrun team respectively. We will announce the winners during the closing session of the conference on Sunday, November 5th.

The second challenge – we invite everyone to join the 5kmrun community and the OpenFest team on Saturday, November 11th, at 10:00 in the South Park in Sofia and run together with us! More details are available in the link here. If you don’t feel in proper physical condition or you are not confident to attempt the run – come join us to support us in getting to the finish line and have fun together with us in the park. It would be great if you could also wear an OpenFest t-shirt, regardless of the year, or a bracelet from the After-Party, so that we can count ourselves in the same manner as we do at OpenFest! Traditionally strong presence for Nikolay Tenev’s “Motiki” (“Мотики” or “Hoes”). The most interesting bugs from the past year will crawl down the hall on Sunday.

ОpenArt returns with a bang at the 21st edition of OpenFest, this time with the kind cooperation of artificial intelligence.

Ventsilav Valev’s “It Or Not It: Artificial Intelligence – Inspiration or Threat?” does not try to scare but rather offer an insight on ways art people can unceremoniously take advantage of AI.
