An important part of the SUSE engineering and innovation team, the Sofia-based hub will focus on pioneering open source technology solutions to enable customers to create, deploy and manage workloads everywhere – from core to edge to cloud.  

“We are pleased to bring innovation and the power of many to Bulgaria,” said Melissa Di Donato, SUSE CEO.  “As SUSE technologies power everything from the most sophisticated medical devices to large data centers and the most powerful supercomputers, we will rely on engineers in Bulgaria to drive technological innovation. This new engineering and innovation hub will be an integral part of our accelerated growth strategy to provide our customers with best-in-class technological solutions through expanded global presence and innovation.”

SUSE is planning to fully operationalize the new engineering and innovation hub in the next six months with the goal of growing to hundreds of positions within the coming three years. In addition to the role of a strategic innovation hub, focussing on engineering and innovation in collaboration with the open source community, SUSE also plans to attract talent in digital marketing, project management and customer support.

Bulgarian-native Ivo Totev, SUSE’s chief product and marketing officer, oversaw the hub launch and said, “At SUSE, we see the location in Bulgaria as a great fit with SUSE’s culture of diversity, openness and respectful collaboration among colleagues, customers, partners and the open source community.
