The First Speakers at OpenFest 2017

We invite you to meet this year’s first speakers while we finish the program.

Bozhidar Bozhanov

Bozhidar Bozhanov is a programmer and sometimes an architect. He also likes applying software engineering to civic issues, therefore he’s a part of the Obshtestvo.bg foundation. He has been an electronic government advisor to Rumyana Bachvarova, deputy prime minister of Bulgaria. Bozhidar will review the current legislation process in Bulgaria with regard to technologies used and all issues arising from that. He will also propose a technological solution using the standard LegalXML format and Git for collaborative legislation work.

Peio Popov

Peio Popov is a lawyer who mostly works in IT. As part of the Ontotext team he’s responsible for the company’s business activities in the USA, as well as for its products and services portfolio. Peio will tell us what a patent troll is and how to fight it after the company where he works collided with the problem and solved it successfully.

Georg Greve

Georg Greve is an entrepreneur, former software developer, author, physicist and expert consultant for global companies as well as the European Commission and United Nations. He was the founding president of the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE), co-founder and CEO of Kolab Systems AG, and is interested in exploring the challenging questions of an increasingly digital society. Georg will speak about how Notary Trade is building a platform that unlocks the power of the Token Economy for everyone, building upon and protecting the values of the Open Internet.
