Open Fest 2014 https://www.openfest.org/2014 OpenFest is the only conference of its kind in Bulgaria, dedicated to open culture, free and open-source software, the free exchange of knowledge - a festival of the open culture. What else is there to learn? It’s now time to enter the realm of your mind where software gets created. Learn how to recognise the patterns of your mind, transcend them or even break to escape linearity. Appreciate the energy efficient mind and how it benefits from grounded logic and emotions. Finally, feed all that back into better software and happier users.

Feedback and a status update https://www.openfest.org/2014/en/2014/11/04/feedback-and-a-status-update/ https://www.openfest.org/2014/en/2014/11/04/feedback-and-a-status-update/#respond Tue, 04 Nov 2014 10:34:06 +0000 http://www.openfest.org/2014n/?p=8057 We’ll be happy to receive your feedback – tell us what did you like, what not, what would you want for next year and whatever you can think of related to the event.

A short status update follows:

The video recordings are being processed at the moment and we hope that in the next two weeks they’ll be available on the site an through the usual channels. We thank you for your patience in advance 🙂

The network team is preparing some posts for the build-up of the network, its work through the fest and some stats, which we hope you’ll find interesting. The other teams are also preparing some stats (drank liquids and eaten things) which we’ll also share.

All the things will be happening a bit slow right now, as our team is still recuperating and needs to catch up with day-jobs, sleep, seeing their close people and other human things.

We’re happy to introduce you one of our partners this year – TaxiMe.

TaxiMe is the first Bulgarian taxi app for iOS and Android with which you can quickly and easily order a taxi from your smartphone – plus it’s download free. With TaxiMe you can track your order in real time, being aware where the car is situated at any moment – really convenient when ordering a taxi for your teenager or your elder relative. Only TaxiMe provides you selected taxi drivers who you can rate once you get off the taxi – this is how you help them climb up in the rating system which always sends you the best one of them near you.

TaxiMe is a 1-year-old app with over 40,000 client installs. Recently it launched a completely new version. Clients now enjoy a better, modern and even more convenient interface as well as many new features. Since October TaxiMe is also available in English and uses the more detailed Google map.

We’ll be streaming the three halls with talks (Sofia, Varna and G1). There will be two types of streams – low-quality (for low-bandwidth links and old devices) and high-quality (for all the rest). We’ll support RTMP, flash and HLS (for the mobile devices).

The team has done everything possible so the people who can’t attend the event in person still can enjoy a bit of it, and hopes that the people that can come will join us, to share the atmosphere.

The links to the streams are available on this page
